Stories and highlights
There's always something to celebrate at our school! From exciting events to proud moments and everyday wins, here are some of our highlights.

Kindergarten’s Veggie Fried Rice Adventure!
What a tasty week for our budding chefs! Kindergarten students put their recipe-writing skills to work by learning hands-on kitchen magic:
Harvesting fresh veggies straight from our garden 🌱
Washing, chopping, and prep work—each child rolled up their sleeves and dove in
Cooking a scrumptious vegetable fried rice that had everyone asking for seconds… and thirds!
The whole class was buzzing with excitement (and appetites!), cheering on their classmates as they cooked—and delighting in every bite

Melting Moments in Stage 2!
This term in Science, Stage 2 has been diving into the fascinating world of states of matter. Through hands-on investigations and real-world applications, students have been exploring how solids, liquids and gases interact and change under different conditions. This week, we took advantage of the chilly weather and brought a little warmth (and sweetness!) into our classroom by turning science into something delicious, hot chocolate!
As part of our exploration into how solids can become liquids through heating, students observed the transformation of solid chocolate into a smooth, rich liquid. We then added warm milk and discussed how steam rising from the pot represented a gas. It was the perfect way to engage the senses while reinforcing scientific concepts in a practical and memorable way.
The excitement was contagious, and the learning was deepened by the joy of sharing something they created themselves.

Dance Ensemble
We are incredibly proud to share that our Dance Ensemble recently performed at the Sydney North Dance Festival, representing our school with talent and pride.
Not only were they outstanding on stage, but they also received praise from event staff for their exemplary behaviour in the waiting area.

Author Visit - Joel Slack-Smith
High potential and gifted students in writing have had the incredible opportunity to work under the mentorship of Joel Slack-Smith, a talented local author who has successfully written and produced quality children's literature. Roarsome, a humorous children's series was recently name as Book of the Month by Dymocks. Joel is also celebrated as a screenwriter for animations and television series including Reef School, Space Nova and The Wonder Gang. Joel inspired our writers with useful tips to perpetuate ideas and will visit later in the year to assist our extension writing group as they collaboratively write and publish a book.
