Our school values strong partnerships with our families and community. Parents and carers can get involved through our Parents and Citizens Association (P&C) or by volunteering at our school. Your time and support help make our school a better place for everyone.

Parents and Citizens Association (P&C)

Our P&C is a group of parents, carers and school community members. They assist with school planning, fundraising, events and volunteering. Our P&C works in partnership with our school to promote the interests of our school community.

Joining the P&C a great way to meet other families, get involved and contribute to our school's future. We would love to have you on board!

What our West Ryde PS P&C has achieved

With our community’s help, we’ve funded or supported:

Laptops and new learning resources/books
Painted playground games and reversible netball/basketball nets
Co-funded astroturf with the school and WRBASC, plus a new sports storage shed
Mobile soccer goals and updated sports equipment
A $29 800 grant for new accessible bubblers with bottle-filling water stations
Annual School Spirit Awards celebrating students who live our school values

Why get involved?

Support your child’s learning through being involved in discussions about the school
Understand how the school works and what’s coming up – hear from the principal at each P&C meeting
Meet other families and feel part of our community
Share and celebrate our school’s diversity
Contribute to a legacy for current and future students

How to get involved

Come to a P&C meeting (listening is fine!)
Volunteer for a stall, BBQ, bake sale, movie night or working bee
Lend skills—gardening, IT, cooking, craft, translation, anything
Help thank our staff at the World Teachers’ Day morning tea
Join school processes (e.g. recruitment or student leadership activities) when volunteers are called
