School Orchestra

We have recently begun a school orchestra which is continuing to grow. This orchestra is led by a qualified music teacher and well supported by a very active parent body. The school orchestra plays at various school based activities throughout the year and this year was invited to participate in a performance at the Sydney Opera House. All people involved were excited to be invited; this was a great reward for all of the hard work done by the students and their support network.

The school choir performs each year at the Sydney Opera House with the combined choir at the Ryde Schools Spectacular. It also entertains the Senior Citizens at the local church at Christmas time, and we have performed at the West Ryde Easter Festival.

Dance Group

Children in the final years of their schooling can become involved in the school dance group. They are taught by one of our very dedicated teachers. The children perform at various chool functions and have recently been selected to participate in the Ryde School Spectacular.

The Wakakirri Story-Dance Festival is a national program that helps schools develop student engagement and wellbeing through participation in the performing arts. A  3-7 minute performance is showcased by a group of students that theatrically tells a story using a combination of dancing, creative movement and acting to pre-recorded music.
