Every week boys and girls from West Ryde Public School come together one afternoon to improve their strategic and problem solving skills by learning the game of chess. West Ryde is lucky to have an expert chess player teach the finer points of chess to our students who all enjoy learning this great game. The children are split into two groups. One group for beginners and another catering for more advanced players.
The group is very popular after a number of our members have been successful in a number of inter-school competitions organised by teachers from around the district.
